What is the story premise of Withering Realms?

The game opens in 1926, ten years after an immense occult event stopped the Great War and transformed the world overnight. The dead now walk, spirits roam, and some gifted people can cast spells. The central mystery begins close to the event’s epicenter.

Clover is nine years old. She awakens alone in a decaying mansion, then discovers that she is a ghost. Her journey through Penwyll and its surrounding graveyards is driven by a search for a way to bring her back to life.

What is the doll guardian?

Clover’s only companion at the start is described as a strange and powerful doll constructed from wood, metal, and human remains. The doll has a missing right arm that can accept crafted weapons and machines. Its creator, origin, and exact relationship to Clover have not been publicly explained.

The official FAQ calls it a new, independent story set in the same universe as Withering Rooms. Players are not expected to know the previous game to understand or enjoy Withering Realms.
