Can two players control Clover and the doll guardian?

Official descriptions consistently present Clover and her doll guardian as the central pair, but they do not describe two-player control. The doll’s missing right arm accepts crafted weapons and machines, making it part of the game’s equipment and combat systems rather than evidence of a second player slot.

For the confirmed gameplay loop, see the Withering Realms gameplay overview and doll arm weapons guide.

Could co-op be added during Early Access?

Moonless Formless says game systems and balance will change with feedback during Early Access, but that statement does not announce co-op. A multiplayer feature should only be treated as confirmed if it appears on the official website, Steam feature list, or a linked developer account.

Does single-player support Steam Cloud?

Yes. Steam currently lists Steam Cloud alongside Single-player, Steam Achievements, Full controller support, and Family Sharing. Those platform features do not change the game’s single-player classification.
