Withering Realms Map — Penwyll and Confirmed Locations (2026)
Explore the confirmed Withering Realms map structure, including Penwyll, the mansion, graveyards, tombs, caves, estates, and expansion rules.
Players searching for a Withering Realms map can identify the world’s main structure, but there is no official labeled layout yet. Moonless Formless names Penwyll as the central town and connects it to graveyards, tombs, caves, rotting estates, and the decaying mansion where Clover awakens. The developer also confirms a world map that expands after massive perimeter guardians are defeated. Those facts support a location overview, not exact routes, collectible coordinates, guardian positions, or a fan-drawn map presented as real. This guide organizes every named place and explains which parts may be randomized, why revisits matter, and what evidence a dependable Early Access map will need.
Which Withering Realms locations are officially confirmed?
Moonless Formless has named Penwyll and several surrounding environment types, but has not released a complete labeled map. The currently confirmed places are enough to describe the world at a high level, not enough to publish routes or collectible coordinates.
| Confirmed place | Official context | Not yet available |
|---|---|---|
| Penwyll | Central mysterious town with shops and NPCs | Street plan, services, fast travel |
| Decaying mansion | Clover awakens there near the occult epicenter | Name, floor plan, exact route |
| Graveyards | Sprawl around Penwyll | Boundaries, entrances, collectibles |
| Tombs | Explored for treasure and materials | Names, room layouts, bosses |
| Caves | Named exploration locations | Entrances, routes, rewards |
| Rotting estates | Named exploration locations | Estate names, interior layouts |

How does the world map expand?
The official description says players expand the world map by defeating massive perimeter guardians. This connects major combat victories to new map access, but it does not reveal guardian names, phases, exact positions, or the number of boundaries.
For the larger loop connecting combat, loot, crafting, and expansion, see the confirmed gameplay overview.
Is Penwyll only a quest hub?
No official source reduces Penwyll to a menu-like hub. The FAQ identifies it as the town at the center and confirms shops and NPCs. It is also part of the central mystery: Althea is described as investigating Penwyll’s dark secret.
The Althea character guide explains what the developer says about that investigation without inventing a quest route.
Are the locations fixed or randomized?
Some areas and dungeons are randomized for variety when entered. The developer does not identify which ones, what elements change, or whether their positions on the world map move. A dependable map should therefore separate stable overworld relationships from interiors that may vary between entries.
What can change when an area is revisited?
The developer confirms two revisit conditions:
- Returning at night can introduce new creatures and secrets.
- Returning after gaining traversal abilities can reveal additional treasure and secrets.
These conditions may overlap, but the official text does not say they are the same system. The Withering Realms nighttime changes guide keeps them separate from unsupported clock or difficulty assumptions.

Withering Realms map FAQ
Is there an official full map of Withering Realms?
Not yet. Official descriptions explain the world-map concept and name several places, but they do not publish a labeled route map.
Where is Penwyll located?
Penwyll is the town at the center of the explorable structure. Its exact geographic position, street layout, and distance from each dungeon are not published.
Does the map become larger?
Yes. The developer says defeating massive perimeter guardians expands the world map. The number and order of expansions remain unannounced.
Are dungeon maps different on every visit?
Some areas and dungeons are randomized upon entry, but the developer has not identified all affected locations or the scale of variation.
Can players return to old areas?
Yes. Night conditions and later traversal abilities both create confirmed reasons to revisit earlier areas.
What should an Early Access map verify?
A useful released-build map should label stable entrances, shops, NPC services, guardian gates, travel points, and ability-gated paths while marking randomized interiors separately. It should also record the game version so later layout changes do not silently invalidate routes.
